Anne Grethe Jurik, MD, DMSc, Professor Emeritus of Radiology, Health, University of Aarhus, Denmark and Assistant Professor, University of Southern Denmark, has devoted more than 20 years to musculoskeletal radiology research and education. Dr Jurik has contributed to more than 250 peer-reviewed scientific and educational articles, 53 within the last 5 years, more than 250 scientific presentations, including over 100 published abstracts, and several book chapters on musculoskeletal radiology. She has given more than 50 invited presentations at international congresses/symposia or refresher courses, including European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR), International Skeletal Society (ISS), European Society of Radiology (ESR), Scandinavian Society of Radiology and European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR), especially within aspects related to spondyloarthritis and chronic non-bacterial osteitis. She is the creator and webmaster for the website spa-imaging.org including imaging aspects within spondyloarthritis for patients as well as doctors, both in English and Danish.
Dr. Jurik is past member of the ESSR board and past president of ESSR’s Subcommittee for Inflammatory Disorders and continuously contributing to educational material within the Subcommittee, elaboration of recommendations etc. She has contributed to a 4-year educational program in Turkey within rheuma-radiological aspects focusing on spondyloarthritis. Dr. Jurik is also an active member of Assessment of Spondyloarthritis International Society (ASAS) with participation in several international scientific and educational projects.
She has received several awards, including Editor’s recognition Award, European J Radiol., and is an Honorary fellow of ESSR, Scandinavian Society of Radiology and Danish Society of Radiology.
Dr Jurik has served as editor of Acta Radiologica, co-editor of European Radiology and manuscript reviewer for several radiological as well as rheumatological and orthopedic journals, predominantly within inflammatory osteo-articular disorders. She is the Danish representative at the Board of Acta Radiologica.
