Dr Gerardine Quaghebeur is a Consultant Diagnostic Neuroradiologist with subspecialty interest in paediatric neuroradiology and inflammatory CNS diseases.
She is Belgian, born in Congo, completed medical training in South Africa at The University of The Witwatersrand. She subsequently started training in general surgery and obtained FRCS, moved into neurosurgery, and then finally settled on neuroradiology. Following completion of training mainly at The National Hospital for Nervous Diseases, Queen Square, she was appointed as Diagnostic Neuroradiologist at The Radcliffe Infirmary before moving to the West Wing; and has been in post for 21 years.
Teaching and training are major interests of Dr. Quaghebeur, and as a result she is regularly invited to lecture and organise courses. She is also an active member of the Royal College of Radiologists and is the Chair of the Standards Committee of the British Society of Neuroradiologists. Dr. Quaghebeur is also a member of the European Society of Neuroradiology and Royal Society of Medicine.
In her spare time there are cats, photography, travel, shopping – and a very understanding husband.​
