Dr Bielecki graduated summa cum laude from the Medical College of the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland. His connection to MSK radiology and to Don Resnick began in 1985 when he returned to the United States to undertake a residency in radiology. He was hired as a research assistant for Don Resnick at UCSD. He was instrumental in developing the early applications of three-dimensional CT imaging on a prototype computing system, the CMAX-1000. Later, he returned to San Diego to hone his expertise through a volunteer research fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and UCSD Medical Center. Under the mentorship of Don Resnick, even then a leading expert in the field, Dr. Bielecki refined his skills in musculoskeletal imaging and developed a strong research foundation. Dr. Resnick became his long-time mentor, and have known each other for nearly 40 years.
