Travel from the Airport to Jerusalem

BEN GURION AIRPORT TO JERUSALEM SHUTTLE BUS:

The shuttle bus from Ben Gurion Airport to Jerusalem (#485) is available 24 hours a day, 6 days a week (not on Shabbat). Generally, it departs hourly during this time, and runs to several central points in Jerusalem, including Jerusalem’s Central Bus Station. The journey time to Jerusalem is approximately 1 hour. The central drop-off in Jerusalem avoids the city’s heavy traffic. While exiting the bus, you can easily transfer to the Light Rail or a local bus. You can grab a local taxi to anywhere in the city. These are all significantly cheaper than a taxi from the airport to Jerusalem.

TAKING A TRAIN:

A new high-speed train from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem also now operates with one stop in the middle at the airport. Now, transport between the airport and Jerusalem Yitzhak Navon Station in central Jerusalem is just over 20 minutes.

To see the train timetable, visit the Israel Railways website.

TAKING A TAXI:

Using a Tel Aviv airport taxi, based on the official regulated fixed prices, your taxi trip should not cost more than €70 and take around 50 minutes, in normal traffic conditions.

DIETARY:

All meals at the Inbal Hotel are kosher. Please notify us if you have any dietary restrictions.

CURRENCY:

The State of Israel's currency is the New Israel Shekel (NIS) or shekel for short. There are 100 agorot in each shekel. International credit cards are accepted for payment in most hotels, restaurants and shops. Exchange offices and ATM's are available throughout the city and at Ben-Gurion International Airport. We recommend that you change some money at the airport for immediate needs.

TIPPING:

When a restaurant bill does not include service, a 12% tip should be added. In hotels, one tips the bellhop or any other service provider. Taxi drivers are generally not tipped.

ELECTRICITY:

The Israeli power supply is single phase 220 volts at 50 Hertz. Most power sockets in Israel have three pin holes, and most work with double-pin European plugs. We will have charging stations available at the conference with 220 volt receptacles for Europe, UK, Asia, South Africa, and Australasia plugs. There will also be charging receptacles for 120 volt North American style plugs.
